Welcome to SUMECO
We accompany you on your way to becoming a more sustainable company and advise you on all issues relating to sustainability.
Today, a company's strategy can no longer be separated from the concept of sustainability - in more ways than one:
› Sustainability in the classic sense
› Sustainability in the sense of generational change
› Sustainability in the sense of digitalisation
› Sustainability in the sense of process optimisation
› ...
This list could go on and on. However, one thing is clear: sustainability cannot be achieved without a clear strategic direction. This is what SUMECO stands for! As your partner for strategy and sustainability.
Topics
Regardless of the size of your company or the sector in which your business operates, there are a number of legal requirements that are currently or will be relevant in the future. We will be happy to advise you on the question of whether and, if so, which of these are necessary for you.
Sustainability & climate neutrality
Sustainability concerns ecological, economic and social aspects in the company
Sustainability is synonymous with responsible behaviour, i.e. the responsibility for achieving a balance between the ecological, economic and social aspects of the company. Integrating sustainability aspects into the corporate strategy ensures that both ecological and economic goals are achieved, while at the same time maintaining social responsibility.
At SUMECO, we support you in making your company not only sustainable, but also more climate-neutral. Integrating climate neutrality targets into your corporate strategy is a decisive step towards exploiting market opportunities and minimising risks.
With our advice, you position yourself as a pioneer in climate protection and sustainability, which not only makes ecological sense, but also makes economic sense.

Gap analyses
We pick you up where you are - with a gap analysis
A gap analysis is an effective way of doing this. Our consultants (sustainability managers, management system experts, lawyers) visit your company, get to know you and check your individual company situation against the requirements and expectations in the area of sustainability.
The result is a recommendation for action and a roadmap for your individual approach to sustainability and its implementation.
We offer you a customised GAP analysis. Your starting point sets the direction and determines the procedure.

Materiality analyses
Materiality analysis vs. GAP analysis
An alternative approach to the GAP analysis in the area of sustainability is to carry out a so-called ‘double materiality analysis’! In this case, you already know where you stand in terms of sustainability.
Based on a risk analysis relating to your products and services and a stakeholder analysis, we work with you to filter the sustainability issues that are important to you from the company's perspective (inside-out) and from an external perspective on your company (outside-in).
As a result, fields of action are defined and a sustainability strategy is drawn up.

Compliance & Law
We are your sustainability navigator
Our expertise will help you navigate safely through the regulatory requirements of sustainability. Legal and regulatory requirements play a particularly important role here. EU, federal, state and municipal law as well as implementation in the form of official requirements are an essential basis for dealing with the topic of sustainability.
Our lawyers advise and support you in the analysis and interpretation of applicable regulatory requirements and work with you to place these in the context of your organisation. Numerous terms and abbreviations are currently doing the rounds. EU taxonomy, LKSG, whistleblower, are just a few of these challenges.
Below you will find some examples of explanations:
EU taxonomy
The EU taxonomy defines the conditions under which an economic activity is considered sustainable. The aim is to redirect financial flows towards more sustainable activities in order to finance the transformation of the economy towards sustainability.
Supply Chain Due Diligence Act
We ensure that your company not only fulfils current regulations, but is also prepared for future legislation. Legal certainty in sustainability is no coincidence, but the result of targeted advice and planning.

Sustainability reports
Which sustainability report is right for you?
CSRD, GRI and DNK are currently the most frequently named reporting formats. Which of these applies to your company depends on several factors.
At the same time, numerous portals are emerging in which customers ask their suppliers to show their colours when it comes to sustainability and to report on this, in some cases using specific key figures. Based on the double materiality analysis, we support you in selecting the optimal and required reporting formats and in selecting / filling the appropriate portals.
The following also applies here: a personalised approach to sustainability reporting is essential!
Our team, consisting of experts who not only have theoretical knowledge but also practical experience in the implementation of sustainability strategies and reports, will be happy to assist you. And we always keep abreast of the latest developments in legislation and best practice.
